A review of the past 24 hours

I think I'll start in reverse.

Time: last night
Setting: Cosco gasoline, cold, kids in back of van in pajamas and shoes, me waving goodbye to Chris, leaving him to wait in cold for locksmith to come open the Jetta
Background: keys inside of Jetta that mysteriously and magically locked while I was trying to figure out my pin number, on the phone with Chris to hunt it down at home, but by then I had entered too many variations and the bank locked my card leaving me without gas and without keys

Time: yesterday morning
Setting: backyard
Background: I had been gone for 45 minutes and came back to find Chris staring at a whole in our chicken coop that had been burned by fire just minutes before from the heat lamp that Chris thought our newly laying hens needed. Luckily he had randomly gone outside to check for eggs at the precise time as flames had erupted. Just minutes after spraying down the coop the girls screamed from inside the house because they had broken a money jar in their room and glass was everywhere. Thankfully, we had our friend's shopvac from the night before...

Time: Late Night before
Setting: living room
Background: lots of noise above our heads, tumbling and squealing in the rafters

Time: Earlier Night before
Setting: Friend's house
Background: Chris is breaking in because they are out of state and our vacuum is dead and we desperately need a super duper suction machine.

Time: Just before break in
Setting: our office
Background: Chris finally confides that we have a huge mouse problem and he has found large piles of droppings under our couch and in just a few hours they have consumed 6 large blocks of decon poison

Time: Afternoon of Night Before
Setting: living room
Background: Having attempted to find and chop down our own Charlie Brown xmas tree this year we have sadly watched it lose its needles to the point of having more on the floor than on its branches. Ornaments have been falling and the slightest movement past the tree sends a shower of needles to the floor. Time to remove the tree. Needles everywhere! And our vacuum is dead... blows smoke when you turn it on. Should we buy a vacuum now? Nah, we don't really need one. We can just sweep and shake...

God prepared you for each step of that 24 hours. :)

Was the shop vac for the mouse droppings or the pine needles? Or the mice that died from eating decon? Or for the noisy children?

Hope things are better now.
