I don't mean to sound ungrateful or incredibly unsatisfied, but why do we have all this junk? On Wednesday, 8 weeks and a day after moving into this house, nearly 4 months after shipping it, our container showed up in our driveway! Louie, Lucas, Trevor and I became fast friends after spending the day unloading, inspecting, and unpacking. And at one point, while unwrapping a kitchenware box, Lucas and I looked at each other and laughed. The things that had been swaddled in packing paper, loaded deep into a moving box, and traveled all the way around the world... let's just say there were some very undeserving and embarrassing items!
Despite the massive "garage sale" we had in Turkey, funding the shipment back, I still feel the need to have another one!
Of course, it has been like Christmas around here! We are so thankful to have special things that make us feel grounded to this world. We feel blessed to have treasures that remind us of stories God has had us take part in. We were thrilled to receive it all in one piece and to finally, at long last, wear something different!
